Is it normal i think sports bikes are horrendous?

I don't care for post 1985 "Sports Bikes", the ones with all the plastic Panels surrounding the internals, like the Kawasaki Ninja, the Honda CBR, the Suzuki Hyabusa, the Ducati 998, the Aprillas, MV Agustas, etc. To me, these Motorcyles are absolutely hideous, its like someone took a regular bike, and poured molten plastic all over it! Of course, I hold nothing against those who like these, but to me they are just appalling. In that manner, I am not a fan of "Baggers", like the Harley-Davidson Roadmaster, Victory Vision, Honda 1800GL Goldwing, or the Indian Chieftain, although they are less Appalling than the 'busa.

I like bikes like the 1960s Norton Commando, the UJM Japanese bikes, like a 1970's Honda CB750F or 750 Yamaha, and Stripped down "Bobber" cruisers like the Indian Scout 60, HD Ultra Wide Glide, or Victory Gunner.

Is it Normal I prefer "Simpler Bikes", like the old British Nortons?

Rearsets and clipons are great for the racetrack but horrible on the road. I equally dislike the American style feet forward and high bars.
I like my feet roughly below my arse and the bars roughly level with my hips. The layout of most bikes before the 1980s. (in Europe anyway - I noticed the US spec of the same British or Japanese bikes usually had higher handlebars fitted than the home versions)
Racetrack styling seems to have taken over from good sense on a lot of road bikes.. When did you last see a sensible fully-enclosed chaincase like 1960s Hondas had?

What woman can resist a man when he pedals in to work on his Schwinn Stingray.

Hey babe, my 21 speed Schwinn mountain bike has really cool front shocks. We should get together for a bicycle rodeo.

Pedal - To work stuff with the foot.
        Peddle - To sell stuff.

If the man is a traveling salesman then peddling to work is appropriate.

If he is a florist, then he petals to work.

While child molesters pedo to work.

You clearly like vintage and Indian style cycles more. Fact is those new bikes are covered in plastic for a reason. But underneath that plastic they are much more advanced and easier to maintain. And more efficient and comfortable too. Older bikes take a lot of upkeep to stay on the road....

You can get traditionally shaped new bikes. Check out the likes of Kawasaki W650.

I just looked it up. Wow, she's a beauty! Yeah, I admit, i'm a sucker for bikes in that kinda style. It really looks like a brit bike from 1966, but without needing a bunch of Oil-dri in your garage!

That they do, However, I just love the way they look and ride. I do understand that newer bikes are more reliable and advanced, and I understand why the sport bikes are built like they are, being modelled after MotoGP Race Bikes, but they look and feel wrong to me. As far as comfort, I feel more comfortable on a Standard or a cruiser than those bikes, the hunched over position isn't very comfortable to me. I tried sitting on a friends Kawasaki Ninja 600, and it was awkward.

I wouldn't mind a newer version of a vintage design with a more reliable engine, like the new Norton Commandos, or a Triumph t100 Bonneville, or like a old 1960s or 1970s UJM type Honda or Yamaha with the modern amenities, like fuel injection and ABS.

The triumphs were nice. I have no preference though. Each bike has it's own use from cruiser to weekend racer type. Some are even off road hybrids now. You can find any type nowadays, they just won't be the same as the classics

yeah, currently, I have a vintage bike. Nothing special, but she is in good shape for an un-restored bike from 1975, and it hasn't been chopped into a "cafe Racer" either.

It's a 1975 Honda CB500T. Not quite like those 1960s Honda Scramblers, or a Triumph bonneville, but I still like it, plus its more reliable than that Bonnie would be! I got it really cheap from my father, who picked it up from my uncle. My uncle had a house he rented out, and the tenants left without explanation in the middle of the night. After the legal waiting time, he called my dad, and he had my dad get the stuff out of there.
