Is it normal i think of john lennon this way?

I’ve been a big Beatles fan for years, as well as John Lennon’s solo work. But there’s always something about him that I feel that I have a hard time putting into words, like something other worldly. For example, his song “Oh My Love” gives off an almost celestial feel to me, and a lot of his quotes and lyrics are so wise it feels like they came from a prophet. Of course, I’m not going to act like he was a saint, unfortunately it’s well known now that he beat his wife and was mean to his son (this especially bothered me when I became close friends with someone who has an abusive father) but I get the feeling he genuinely was improving in his life. I may also come off as superstitious for this, but I noticed something interesting:
Lennon was born in 1940, the Beatles started in 1960, ended in 1970, and Lennon died in 1980, all at the beginning of decades. And something about his death seems almost poetic to me, in an ironic way: a man who, despite some faults I previously mentioned, devoted a lot of his life to peace, died violently. I don’t know, this whole thing feels like a modern equivalent of the Jesus story. A controversial figure spreads messages of love and peace, and disrupts the authority of the time, and gets put to death for it. Maybe I’m just over romanticising one of my favorite musicians, or perhaps I’m on to something. Either way, let me know what you think!

Lennon was nothing without Paul. Lennon was an idealistic pot head who came along at the right time. Stop with your silly idolizing. He was just a dude.

You could pick worse people to idolize, but John Lennon was a self-obsessed, pretentious phony with only a moderate amount of talent.

While he was droning in that nasal whine of his, "Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can, No need for greed or hunger," he and the equally vacuous Yoko had a whole apartment in the Dakota building, just below the one they lived in, for the exclusive occupation of their fur coats - just to keep them at the right temperature.

That pretty neatly sums up John Lennon.

I’m the OP and this sounds like something I would have written at the time: https://www.reddit.com/r/TrueOffMyChest/comments/d53yn2/one_of_my_fears_for_the_past_several_years_has/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
I’m still a fan but I’m nowhere near this level of crazy!

Jesus didn't beat women! He actually, unlike Lennon, treated women very well.

Nor did Jesus have a fridge for his collection of fur coats.
