I agree. In 2016 I read about a woman who recently had a kid despite the fact that she herself had early-onset, hereditary ALS and the disease has been in the family since the 1700s. STOP REPRODUCING SERIOUSLY JUST STOP.
with genetic screening it is now possible to remove these defects from the gene pool. unless you have a dominant gene such as Huntingtons you and your partner may be carriers of a recessive gene such as cf in which case you have a 1 in 4 chance of having a child with the defect.
That's good to hear about the screening. And something I want to add to this post is that just because a person can do something doesn't mean they should. I believe that people should be legally allowed to have kids if they want, but they shouldn't expect anyone to support them or approve of it.
IIN I think if you carry a genetic disorder you shouldn't have children?
