Is it normal i think i'm more scared of driver's ed than driving itself?

I've talked about my fear of driving a lot on this site, but I realized something: I think I actually am more scared of driver's ed. Me and my mom decided if we ever go through with it, I should take a private class. Now, one thing you should keep in mind before reading this next part is that the subconscious is different than the conscious, and consciously I know that driver's ed instructors are not bad people, but subconsciously I believe that. When my anxiety reached its peak I focused my anger on the automotive industry, and I felt a deep hatred for instructors because I had one friend who was learning that I was worried about. So subconsciously I have a negative view of these people. Hell, I even tried downloading a DE app that I failed on, and almost started crying. An APP! TBH though, the idea of just driving normally doesn't seem as scary by comparison, and I don't know why.

    Several things:

    1. See a psychiatrist. You need to better control your anxiety, or it's going to become more annoying the older you get; and once you're an adult, no one will have as much sympathy for you as they did when you were younger (except your mom).

    2. Drivers Education in high school is bullshit. In my experience, it was just Scared Straight: Driving Edition, which were filled with various car crashing videos. So don't feel bad skipping that class.

    3. Do your research, and get a good driving instructor. It will cost quite a bit of money, but you'll learn. When you meet your instructor, let him/her know you have terrible anxiety and haven't gotten a control on it yet, so he/she is aware. Also, no worries about crashing, driving instructors have a 2nd wheel and peddles on the passenger side, so if you do freak out and about to hit a wall or something, they can break for you. Totally safe.

Embrace risk and defeat your fear of failure, or you will never reach your potential.
