Is it normal i think anyone saying people should be able to have guns is crazy?

A lot of gun owners say they're not violent and just because they have guns doesn't mean they want to kill people. That's bullshit. Buying a gun and saying you don't want to shoot anyone is like buying condoms and saying you're not planning on having sex. Some of them SEEM like sane, normal people, but appearances can be deceiving and we've seen too many times that these "normal" people are just one moment of anger away from causing tragedy. How many more innocent people have to die before we can see the simple truth? People buy guns for one reason and one reason only: to prepare to commit murder. Maybe they only want to kill someone who pissed them off or maybe they want to try to overthrow the government, but one thing's for sure: they are all dangerous and the ones who haven't already started shooting people are just looking for any excuse to take lives. Let's use some common sense here, people. There are millions of gun owners out there and every one of them is a dangerous psychopath. Let's solve the problem now, not wait for the country to descend into chaos.

Is It Normal?

  • I think the gun situation in America is scary but I find it hard to believe that if someone has a gun it means they are violent, i think many people have guns to protect and would have to use them as a desperate last resort

  • You are so delusional its ridiculous. You shouldn't judge everyone based on the actions of some, it could get you shot. Hunters buy guns to kill people? No. I would guess that a bunch of gun owners will never even use the damn thing. It doesn't hurt to have one just in case. I don't have one but I would like to. And do you really think that guns are the only things that kill innocent people? You fool. Oh, and I buy condoms to throw at mexicans.

  • This is the stupidest fucking post I've read here in a long time.

I have the right to defend myself against criminals, a tyranical government, and misguided delusional folks like you who seek to impose your idealistic and senseless will on the general public.

    • I'm just gonna throw up my agreement right here, exactly what I wanted to say but short and sweet. :)

I'm strongly hoping this is a troll post, but I'm not so sure on this one.. x.x

  • Why is this even 49% normal? You sound like a dumbass. There are lots of reasons to have guns besides murder such as hunting, shooting sports, self defence, collecting hobby, and to look like a badass.

  • "Let's use some common sense here, people."

Please do! Because you're sounding like you don't have much of it, based on this post. I don't agree with you at all. And if all of these people are determined on killing (given that "every one of them is a dangerous psychopath"), then shouldn't the focus be on helping the ridiculous amount of supposed psychopaths (aka gun owners), rather than focusing on the guns themselves? I mean, if they're *so* crazy, then I'm sure a lot of them would resort to using other things which can kill (of which there are plenty), to satiate their need for the blood of innocents.>:)

I'm from England, and our gun control is strict here, and I definitely would not change that. I definitely like the way things are here with regards to gun control and how hard it is to get a gun. However, because of that, I feel like my opinion is a bit too biased and that I can't really comment *that* much on other countries, when I don't live there and can't truly appreciate the differences, because I'm sure different laws work in certain places and not in the country I live in. So, I'll keep my opinion out of this one, but will say that I disagree with you.

  • The fact is that guns exist, and there is a large global market for small arms dealership, whether it is legal for citizens to own them or not. You cannot change that. Go ahead and try, I will laugh at you. People who legally own registered firearms almost never use them, except for recreation (shooting range, hunting) and, very rarely, self defense. I live in a city with high crime. Lets be honest: if I see two big guys following me down a deserted street late at night (true story) I'm going to want to have a gun to defend myself. I'm would much rather do that than carry a knife around with me and risk getting into a knife fight if I get cornered.

Allowing sane people to register and buy guns is good because if doing so were illegal then the only parties in possession of guns would be criminals and governments. However, I do agree that there needs to be tighter control over firearms. Every firearm needs to be registered to a person, and if the firearm exchanges hands then it MUST be legally documented, with background checks, in EVERY case.

  • My father used guns for hunting and I use guns, as well as bows, for competition shooting. Neither me not my father has every shot a person and due to our religious beliefs, would never do such a thing. Guns have other uses. Although some people have sadly decided to use them for evil, not everyone who uses a gun is crazy. That's just a generalization....

  • So should the police people and army people be allowed to have guns? I think they do. So apparently you think I am crazy for this belief. Interesting

  • I think there is some, small truth in the core of what you're saying, but you've massively exaggurated it and clouded it with ridiculousness. Most people who own guns use them for hunting, target shooting and self-defence. If everyone who owned a gun was a psychopathic killer the streets would be painted red already.

I do think that having widespread gun ownership in lieu of self-defence is dangerous because it perpetuates paranoia, meaning people who own a gun are more likely to use it when it doesn't constitute reasonable force. Having more powerful weapons promotes a culture of brinkmanship toward weapons when it comes to self-defence. But do I think most gun owners are killers in any situation other than self-defence? No.

  • HAHA I'm literally laughing at your ignorance. 90% of the people I know either own, or want to own a gun. Most of them are not psychopaths. There are many other reasons to own a gun.

      • I know, but I could potentially be lying if I said all of them, because I'm not 100% positive. But I highly doubt any of them are!

  • I'm against weapons and I'm a pacifist. But I still don't think everyone who has a gun is a psychopath. Most of them probably have protective intentions.
So should guns be forbidden? Yes!
Are all gun owners bad people? No!

  • There are so many gun-related deaths in America, it's rediculous.
Unless you need one for hunting, etc, then get rid of it.

    • A great majority of the deaths have proven to be gang members, criminals, etc.

Those who live by the gun.

Whenever a gun is used successfully for self defense the media refuses to acknowledge the fact.

I for one am more afraid of those who seek to control and manipulate the media for their own political ends.

  • I guess women carrying pepper spray must be monsters to you. How dare you take something to assure you are safe! How dare you do that you stupid, stupid woman! That was sarcasm btw. I guess if someone is being raped or someone is trying murder them and they kill the attacker you will blame them for defending themselves.

  • I own a guy every one in my family owns at least one none of us have shot any human, if it came down to it though anyone of us would use one to defend out selfs and family. Your whole agreement has not point or a trace of logic

  • The constitution wasn't even talking bout hunting. That's not why we have the right to bear arms

  • I agree that owning a gun may bring you to a place in which you may actually have to shoot someone with it, which I find repulsive. I also think that it increases the chances of the owners of the gun and those near and dear to them getting shot with their own guns. I must admit that I think your view is somewhat extreme

  • I'll never own a gun. But i support the right to own them. I don't think it's rational to say that gun owners are dormant serial-killers. My dad owned a gun. For protection. My brother owns a gun For protection. My cousin owns several guns. He just likes to shoot targets, cans, bottles, logs and broken remote- control cars.
