Is it normal i think all lockdowns should end?

I say let nature take its course. Old and sick people are a burden anyway. Here's a completely natural way to solve overpopulation.

      • Man, it breaks my fucking heart to hear people talk like this, it really does. With the exception of pedos and murderers, every life on this planet has value, no matter how far along it is. We should treat our elders like gold, I firmly believe that. They've done so much for us. Wow, just wow.

        • Its funny how th ed same people who say stuff like that ate genenuinly the ones who see animals as lesser beings or children property all that jazz. I have no problem woth people who think like that finding an early grave and since that's most of the population well I'm not gonna morn yalls

      • If I had to guess, I'd assume McSorley was referring to the last two sentences more than anything else.

    • A pragmatist actually. But I realise name-calling can be comforting to some.

      • Not pragmatic at all, think about the trickle down complications that will cause. Many of the best doctors aren’t exactly young for a start you non pragmatic douche bag.

        Comment Hidden ( show )
  • That’s such an asshole thing to say. Those old and sick people you’re talking about are loved ones to many people and just want to live as much as the next person. If you were them I bet you wouldn’t be saying this.

  • I agreed with you until I read your last two sentences.

    • I feel the same way, lockdown should end but the last 2 sentences show how little compassion and how selfish the person is.

    • Yeah, he phrased it terribly for getting people on his side.

      Comment Hidden ( show )
  • So you don't give a f about your health and the health of your family right.?

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Are people really this selfish? That stuffing their own mouths and getting haircuts is more important than stopping the spread? How would you feel if your parent got sick and died? Id have no sympathy or care for you because, fuck the old, right?

  • I think it's normal to want all of this Coronavirus quarantine stuff to end. What really strikes me quite deeply is that most of the world is now living the way a depressed, and anxious shut in sort of person lives normally. It's my most sincere hope, and prayer that when all of this is over people will be much more empathetic, and compassionate towards others who suffer from depression, anxiety and PTSD!

    • I think it goes beyond that. Empathy for others would be a great outcome, but I honestly didn't notice that aspect of the lockdowns until you mentioned it. I think we all could express a little more common courtesy towards each other, regardless. The ironic part is that we spend a lot more time online and people online tend to be less kind than they would be in real life. I am lucky to live in a good community, the amount of sharing is amazing. Donation centers are closed so people are finding new homes for the stuff they don't want by posting it for free. And we now have the time to properly sort and manage all this stuff. We have time to help. Time to relax, even if it causes anxiety because we forgot how to do it. (Everyone is different, not undermining mental disorders, just what I notice.)

  • The mortality rate is now reckoned at 0.1-0.3%. Any country that keeps up the lockdown, at this point, has not right to label itself in the "free world".

      • https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/everyone-wants-coronavirus-data-should-treat-numbers-caution/ There's a link in there which is. https://cmmid.github.io/topics/covid19/severity/global_cfr_estimates.html

The link is now defunct hence why I'm showing you the article which briefly outlines the mortality rate found from the study. Anyway, I read the study and basically reckoned that a seriously large percentage of the population gets it for everyone who actually gets tested. It makes sense with the variable in countries mortality rates. Basically people tend to only get tested if they're really doing badly with the illness, countries vary their degrees of testing, and people in poorer countries e.g. Iran, are less likely to go to a doctor than in more prosperous country like Germany, hence the absurdly strong contrast of an over 6% mortality rate of known cases in Iran, and a 0.3% mortality rate for Germany.

  • I voted yes before you said old ppl are a burden anyway. I take back my vote. But I do think the economy should open the whole point was supposed to be to keep our hospitals from being over run but theyre almost empty

    Comment Hidden ( show )
      -
    • That kinda proves the point wasn't to keep hospitals from being overrun. They closed down the temporary hospitals in NY that the quarantine was supposed to give them time to open up

      • The whole thing is weird af. I think it has something to do with the election. Maybe this is just a silly conspiracy theory but they were all about "coronavirus is less than the flu" in January.

We know Trump was running for office by pointing at the state of the economy. Democrats are already puttin up ads with "look at the economy worse unemployment ever!" I think this actually hurts them because everyday voters are suffering and not paying their bills and i bet alot of democrat voters are even getting tired of this.

        • I really don't like the term "conspiracy theory." There's a lot of theories flying around. The moon is a hologram or aliens built the pyramids and stopped hitler are conspiracy theories, I don't think there are many people that actually seriously believe either one of those.

"The media narrative of an event that's directly affecting lots of people's lives doesn't make sense" isn't a conspiracy theory, it's just an observation. I don't know if this is a real virus or a hoax, but no matter what it's being twisted into some whole media/political thing. News is propaganda.

They keep moving goalposts to declaring this over and the idea that it's being done to protect vulnerable old people who probably wouldn't get a ventillator if they got pneumonia last year cause of low chances of survival is completely ridiculous. People keep posting this same dumb topic and I keep saying the same thing. Hospitals don't try very hard to save a wheelchair bound 90 year old with emphysema who comes into the hospital with severe pneumonia. The same government that allows this is violating it's own laws to protect people who would normally be allowed to be left to die. That doesn't make sense.

  • Hope you wind up in the gulag when the new fascist state comes out.

You really think this is about saving old people? You really think the government cares if retired people die? You're a fucking idiot.

    • I'm no expert but I'm pretty certain the gulags were limited to the communists not the fascists. Completely different.

      • Gulags were for political and religious dissidents against the communist bolshevik regimes. Basically the good guys were placed in gulags not the repressive statists.

  • The Lockdown should have never started. There should have been warnings so those who would be affected worst could take measures to be safe. Masks should have been made available for those who wished to purchase them but businesses should have not been Locked downed so indiscriminately. Two years ago 60,000 Americans died of viruses and nothing shut down.

  • I do think we need to start reopening the economy (and in my area we're already in Phase 1), but I don't believe old and sick people are a burden. Their lives matter and they have people who love them, too. However, we can't shut down the economy indefinitely and allow the masses to starve for the liberty of a few, either.

I say anyone who is concerned can keep quarantining (and I wouldn't be opposed to things like nursing homes remaining on lockdown), but our economy needs to open back up.

  • I am glad your dumbass doesn't have the right and power to end the lockdown. Just keep on whining about overpopulation on social media because that's what you're only capable of doing.

  • Yes, I agree. I was all for euthanising the old and sick all along then as soon as we get a natural way to take them out people are trying to stop it?!?! Just let natural selection run its course.

    • Some old people are useful though. Plus senicide is terrible for the cohesion of society; even the Spartans who killed infirm babies at birth, and took you away from your family at age 7 to be raised by and for the state, didn't kill the old.

People will be remiss to devote themselves to a country that will kill them for simply growing old. I disagree with it, but I can see how applying euthanasia to the the disabled from birth makes sense, and frankly we do face a massive problem in the west with dysgenics that needs to be sorted, but senicide is an issue that's has more negatives than possitives, even if you're just being purely pragmatic.
