Is it normal i tend to mimic my friends' speech tics when i talk to them?

Whenever I talk to someone, (or well, generally, type to someone) I tend to mimic whatever sort of typing/speaking tic they have - sometimes I even find myself copying whatever accent they have when talking without realizing! Occasionally I'm a bit worried because I feel like I might offend them by accident, but...

Some people do that unconsciously as a way of identifying with the person they're talking to. Think of it as a sort of chameleon-like adaptive colouration thing. You're trying to blend in and seem more like the other guy because of an instinctive feeling that people feel closer to those like themselves, and they're less likely to attack them than they are obvious outsiders.

It's not that different to something you see with body-language, where people who feel close tend to mirror each other's poses when they're talking.

If you're young, it could also be that you're still trying to figure out who precisely you are, and it's a little trying on of the personas of other people, just to see if they fit you.

Hah! Just as I figured. Good writing for a bird, though.
