Sometimes I start typing up a comment and midway through writing it, I find myself put off by my tone or my content or whatever - and I delete it before I even post it. It happens more often than not for me.
Yes. I do very often. Not just with my comments though, I do the same with emails too. I hate talking through text because I can't convey what I really mean as effectively as I could if I were in person with whoever I'm talking to. I often feel like I come off as rude or insensitive, or even really stupid sometimes.
I do this very often. Definitely less than half, probably less than a quarter, of the comments I start writing will ever see the light of day.
This is because the perfect dom180 comment requires meticulous planning :P Ideally, I would plan each one out in handwriting on real paper and it would probably take me half an hour to plan and multiple drafts to write. It would be pages long. That sounds like a labourious process, and as you can probably guess I ignore that method, cut corners and write most of what I say in a stream of consciousness. But as a result of not putting in proper effort, I'm not usually happy with what I write on the fly and I never post most of it :P
