Is it normal i sometimes like movie posters more than the actual movie?

Especially with old monster movies. It’s kinda like reading a book and then seeing the movie and being disappointed that it wasn’t how you imagined it. I like to imagine what this movie could contain, and what could happen in it, sort of creating my own movie in my head.

    It is easy to fall for. I guess the real question should be -
    How come the movie is never as good as the poster/preview?

    It's called advertising. It's propaganda to get you to pay to see the movie.
