Is it normal i really miss the early 2010s?

I was born in 1999 so the early 2000s are much more nostalgic for me, but looking back I really do miss the early 2010s as well. It definitely wasn’t a perfect time, but for me personally it was definitely better. My grandpa was still alive, as well as my first dog, and while I was in the process of growing up I still was more innocent by comparison.

But I especially wish I could redo the years 2012-2014, they had their ups and downs, but I just wish I could go back and correct a lot mistakes I’ve made, because it all seems so obvious now.

But I guess if I’m to have peace of mind I have to move on and accept that I can never do that.

I miss the 90s more than anything. It was so much better without social media. Ppl were cooler i feel. Young ppl in the time were really goofy and the style was gangster. Ppl wore baggy clothes and just goofed off.

It's way too easy to get stuck in nostalgia and regrets about things we could have handled better, but all that is really pointless.

Whatever you did or didn't do back then, it was the best the person you then were could do. If you can now see that you could have handled things better, that's a positive sign, since it means you've grown and learned in the years since. No matter how old you get, you'll keep on making mistakes. The best you can hope for is that you don't keep on making the same mistakes.

Early 2000s? If you were born in 99....you miss being 5? Not to sound rude but try being an adult for a few years before you get stuck in a depressive loop of the good old days. Late 20s are great and while childhood memories are great, they are often faulty and kind of inaccurate. Children are often more wise than we give them credit, but the things they do not understand for lack of a fully developed brain get made up in the memory files.

Be present. I know it's kind of weird, but there is always something.

Yeah, nostalgia will always make a person miss certain years. It's fine to miss them as long as you're moving forward and not trying to relive the past.

The early 2010s were almost a carbon copy of today in most respects, it was only eight or nine years ago lol

Agreed, you have to go back to 2008 to see a real difference from today in attitudes, fashions and technology.

2008 was a good year even though I was 5-6.

All we can do is learn from our past and do what we can to improve our present, as you say you have to move on.
