Iin: i read they're building dorm-like living quarters for adults?

I read they're building dorm-like living quarters for adults in the Atlantic Magazine. Basically, they're targeted toward singles in their 20s. You get your own room. Bathrooms, kitchens, Living rooms etc are shared common areas. The rent is a few hundred less than renting a 1 bedroom and you are never lonely I guess.

I don't really like this idea, but I was wondering what others thought of it. Personally, the reason I don't like it is it's already hard to become an independent adult in the United States for people in their 20s e.g.: hard to find a good job and move out of parents house. Moving to a dorm-like situation seems like another thing that would make people feel like adolescents longer and not adults. Maybe, I'm right and maybe I'm wrong.

What do you think of this idea?

    I don't see anything wrong with living that way, but I personally would prefer not to.

      Yeah I guess you're right. I'd definitely prefer not to as well and I guess I just don't like the direction society is going in that ppl seem more interdependent and less independent, but that's just an opinion based on the fact I value being in a society of ppl who tend to be more independent

    I disagree, I think living independently in an adult dorm would feel a lot less adolescent than living with your parents in your childhood room when aged 22+.
