Is it normal i reacted this way to being insulted when i was a little girl?

When I was around 8/9, my sister's boyfriend brought his friend over to our house. He was about 15 and for some reason really nasty towards me. I was a chubby little girl and he decided to be very cruel to me because of my weight. My siblings teased me, but this guy was downright mean! It was like he actually hated me for being a chubby kid and was being exceptionally cruel to me.

So I punched him directly in the penis.

He ended up having to lay on the floor of my sister's room for a really long time, at least half an hour. I felt bad after I did it, but I was on the verge of a breakdown with the things he was saying and I just wanted him to stop. Is it normal I lashed out? Is what he did normal? I still find it just a bizarre situation overall. I think I may be more perplexed by his behavior. There's normal teasing by an older kid and then there's what he did.

I wouldn't feel guilty, he deserved it.

Could I kick him a second time for you? No one should comment on another's weight.

Justified as far as I'm concerned!

Funny I remember being one of those kids. Slow to lose the baby fat, then, too tall and skinny, I didn't come into my own until I was 17 or 18. Then I had a blast, a lot of people who teased me about my looks started noticing me, asking me out, even people I looked at as being out of my league started asking, and I took great pride in turning them down and paying attention to the friend I had grown up with that never saw or at least never said anything about my looks. They were just a friend, always.

You were a kid and you weren't developed enough to know how to handle your emotions when someone picks on you to that extent, so I'd say you were normal for reacting like that. He wasn't normal for bullying a literal eight year old, though. He probably wanted to seem cool in front of the others when really he just looked like an idiot.

No they can't. Children can not have boyfriends and girlfriends if you think otherwise you're sexualising them.

        • They can. Dating in that age range is normal. Teenagers also experiment with each other sexually starting around that age range. It's not us sexualizing them, it's just the reality of reality. That's why teen parents exist.

I ended up losing my virginity only a couple years older but still under 18, when I was 17. Teenagers have sex drives.

Ok, let me put this straight: If you think it's not okay for ME to be with a teenager, then it's not okay for a teenager to be with another teenager. Simple as that. If someone is unable to give consent, then they are unable to give consent to ANYONE, regardless of age, and that's that.

Tinybird. Most Countries in the world and States within the United States have an "age of consent" with various variations on that.

If you read the full laws and the various court procedures you will find that its quite common for young teenagers to be having sex and that there are no charges filed if their partner is within 1 or 2 years of them in age.

So as an adult you can in no way have sex with someone under the age of consent. But they can have sex with someone else their age and most likely within 1 year, and in some cases within 2 years and it is not considered a violation of the age of consent law.

If you are older you do have to be careful when traveling if you are into quick sex. A brief check can say that the age of consent is age 16, but a more full reading of the statute is that 16 -18 year olds can only have sex among their age group and those that are up to 2 years older than they are. So someone age 19 or older cannot have sex with anyone age 16 or younger without violating the age of consent law in that State (real example from the USA) - even though the Age of consent guide for the State says age 16.

When I was a single man and traveling I always made sure that I knew the age of consent laws in the States I was in (not that anything ever happened).

Also, up until a few years ago the Age of Consent at the Vatican was age 12 (and has been for I believe over 1000 years: I'll let you speculate why the Vatican priests and virtually 100% male staff needed an age of consent of 12 years old law for all that time). I heard they were going to raise it after a lot of public outcry in recent years.

              I wish you well...

            • Teens can be with each other. Adults cannot be with teens sexually.

In regards to very, very young children, both older children and adults can be prosecuted for touching them sexually.

Tinybird, your "crush" you are referring to is not overtly sexual and is much more like an intense friendship with one person specifically from the past.

You need to work on removing yourself from these situations. It is normal for teenagers to date each other. The person you have had a crush on has been gone for many years. It's different. I understand your frustration though.
