Up until recently I wanted people to think I was smart, intelligent, hard working and thoughtful. Striving for this never got me anything but more work and responsibility but very little reward.

Now whenever someone asks me something I say I don't know. I ask how to do simple things, I pretend to know very little about the topic of a conversation.

While I make a lot less my life is much easier.

Is it normal to pretend to be dumber than you actually are?

    when ever i have a difficult task i give it to the laziest man in the company. then i study how he got it done, they always find the easy fastest way to do it. its a trick i learned on the way to the top.

      Interesting because I've observed the lazy man will go to great lengths to avoid those things which they dislike, often creating much more work in the procress.

      Their only goal is avoidance of certain tasks, they have no concept of the goal and will invariably do many meaningless and uneeded things to avoid that specific objectionable thing.

      A lazy man is not one who streamlines processes or tasks rather one who obfuscates and randomizes shit.

      Stop kidding yourself. Yes lazy people have novel approaches and some are good ideas, but only in spite of themselves, not due to genious.
