I understand I really do. It might be an irrational thought but I despise the idea of a girl I'm dating going to a male doctor as well. Don't leave her over it though, talk to her explain the way it makes you feel. See if she can switch to a female doctor but UNDERSTAND if she sees this doctor for a reason like he's the best in the area, or he's been her doctor for years understand she may not want to quit going to this doctor. And if there is such a reason swallow your pride and except it, her health comes before anything else, and if you love her you should agree with that.
See my response below: HER BODY, HER CHOICE! You agree it's irrational but would expect your gf to go along with it??? That's real grownup of you: the appropriate mature thing to do about irrational thoughts is not to act on them and in particular not to expect or even ask anyone else to act on them, but to use the rational part of your brain to change them. I do not apologise for pointing out what should be obvious to anyone with half a brain who's not living in the middle ages.
you're putting aside the person's feelings though. Just because something shouldn't bother someone doesn't mean it doesn't.
I agree it's irrational but whether the pain you feel is caused by something real, or is just in your mind doesn't change the fact that it still hurts.
When you're in a relationship with someone you learn about their weird quirks and you try to compromise with them, and they in turn try to compromise on your quirks that's part of a relationship.
IIN I panic over my gf visit to male doctor?
