Mr. Rogers (no "d") was a kind and gentle man. He also cared very much about children - not in a creepy way at all. You should see his testimony before Congress. He really knew what kids need to grow up healthy in mind. And Tom Hanks is a very good if not great actor. I think he's an excellent choice to play Fred Rogers. Who else would you see playing the part? I can't think of anyone.
I don't understand why they would make a movie about Mr Rogers. When I was a kid I always thought the guy was kinda creepy. Like if I ever encountered a child molester he would probably sound like that. What kind of grown man hangs out with freaky puppets and has such an interest in children?
With every comment you make, you continue to show your ignorance and total lack of kindness or compassion. Tom Hanks is not an elitist at all. His mother was a hospital worker and his father was an itinerant cook. They moved 10 times during Tom's first 10 years of life, mostly in search of gainful employment. Tom didn't grow up rich by any stretch, and I rarely hear him comment about politics. But he is responsible for calling the WWII generation the Greatest Generation, a phrase that has been generally accepted by those who have studied history. You, on the other hand, are typical of today's clueless morons.
