Is it normal i never learned to ride a two wheeler?

I’m 21 now and as the title says I never learned to ride a two wheeler. I used to ride a bike with training wheels a bit as a kid, and I even did try to ride without them, but I could never quite get the hang of it.

It might not seem like a big deal, but I feel like my lack of experience with this has caused me problems. I’ve talked before about my fear of driving, and I’ve been told it’s like riding a bike, which wasn’t helpful, for obvious reasons. Plus, it would have given me good exercise, more reasons to go out, and all around just been a good thing for me.

I suppose it’s not too late to learn, but I run into a habit of thinking “if only I’d done this earlier, I could have saved so much trouble!”

Riding bikes is so much fun! As well as roller skating!

Just stick to the unicycle. One wheel is all you need.

As an added bonus. You get to really meet all kinds of interesting people. Greatly expand your choices of people for real friendship.

Me either, but I've never really had a need to as an adult.

It might be harder as an adult, Idk, but i you want to learn, go for it.

Also, Idk how many times I've said this, but I'll say it again: you really need to see someone about the whole driving-phobia focused on that obsession with that one girl thing. It's not good for you or anyone else. It's interfering with your life. You really need to help yourself here.

Edit: adult tricycles are also a thing. Idk if that would be more awkward for you, but fyi.

    • The thing is, I have, and for a while I didn’t think about it much but sometimes it comes flooding back.

I suppose it is probably not normal that you were exposed to a bicycle with training wheels, but never 'graduated' to riding just on two wheels. If you live in a place where it is super advantageous to know how you should make it a goal to achieve! If it doesn't make much of a difference in your life situation then don't sweat it and focus on more important or practical things for yourself.

Look man if you need training wheels again be ready for some assholes but ignore them. You'll be out of them soon enough. It's like swimming its ususlly not to late to learn. I say buy a bike and go for it! I reccomend avoiding city boles unless you live in New York or something. If all you'll be riding on is concrete on flat surfaces they are fine but if going up hills get a ten speed or something and mountain tires are always a good idea. Who doesn't want more traction right?

Edit, for the live of god dont get a cruiser.

What's wrong with a cruiser bike?

They are one speed. Meaning you cant make the ride easier for yourself at any point. Say to go fro. Smooth concrete to gravel. Well you are stuck at default settings. With gears though you can make the ride wayyy easier. Most noticable going up hills. In cruiser up a hill you'll want to kill yourself

Good skill to know. You would be extremely surprised how many people join the navy not knowing how to swim.
