When was this "golden age?" I go back to the late 1960's/ 1970's. In fact I was at the original Woodstock Music Festival. I even partook of the dreaded and infamous "brown acid". I remember "tripping" for three consecutive days. And it wasn't a "bad trip" as was said in those days. Weed went for $10-$15-$20 a "lid" ( a lid was considered to be 28 grams or an ounce or somewhere in that weight area. To me THAT was the golden age of weed. Haven't smoked any shit almost 20 years so I have no idea what an ounce of weed costs nowadays. But I would imagine the shit they grow nowadays is powerful enough to knock me on my ass with just one took. So consider yourself lucky that it's pointless for you to fuck with it anymore. Stay the fuck away from it. Might get you in trouble.
In those days, if you bought weed you got buds, leaves, stems, seeds etc so you had to smoke loads of it to get high. Thats because weed was usually imported and it was just entire plants chopped up and pressed into a block.
These days most weed is home grown and people only harvest the buds (flowers) so only a small amount is needed.
And these days an oz can cost anywhere from $200US to $500US, or approximately $10 a gram.
Thanks. And you are so right about the seeds and stems. I remember having to "clean" my weed of all that garbage by tilting it on a piece of cardboard and watch those seeds come rolling down. Cheech and Chong: "No stems and seeds that you don't need." Up to $5oo an oz, huh? I guess I won't be starting that old habit any time soon. It is expensive but half a gram in one joint would leave you stoned for a good 4 hours. I smoke about a gram a day but id probably smoke about 2g a day if i could afford to.

1/4lb used to cost $125-200 tops.
A dime bag $10 used to supply at least 10 fatties to maybe 15. A nickle bag $5 would give you at least 3 nice joints of the best weed or at least 5-7 of some good weed.

Ha where i live in ireland a £10 bag (about $14) gets u about 2-3 decent sized joints of average quality
