True but they're more rare and yeah you have to look for those oldschool sites...meaning there won't be a lot of users active especially from a smaller town like mine. One of the old forums I used to hang out on as a teen is still active but with like a 100 users online at a time which is a tiny amount really. It's mostly abandoned. Sad stuff

There are still blogs out there... I'm planning on starting a new one soon on assisting people to become more successful and start businesses.
There are some forum sites where users register and have various discussions on topics - with a private PM system.
You do have to look for them though...
