Is it normal i'm uncomfortable with being touched by strangers, even professionals?

I haven't had a professional haircut in close to 10 years, have refused doctor's exams, and keep putting off going to the chiropractor and dentist because I'm really uncomfortable with strangers touching me, even if it's a professional. I can't relax or get comfortable and I almost have a fear.

That use to be my pet peve. I remember my first day at UPS my first supervisor came up and put his hand on my shoulder to talk to me and i grabbed his wrist and removed it from my shoulder. Doctor or dentist doesnt bother me but I feel like when someone puts their hand on me in a dominant way its annoying. Its like theyre telling you that you're beneath them

I usually close my eyes and go to my happy place. Let them do there job and pretend they arnt there. I'm sure they see it all the time. It's like you might be uncomfortable about getting a sponge bath but that nurse whose doing it has quarantined washed shit covered asses at least a hundred times before.

(I know a few Rns) point being go to your happy place pet them do there job they dont care theyve seen it all. It's like retail only a little more personal but the cashier or floor worker still doesnt gives shit about you

So meet them first. My kids first dental visit the doctor just hung out with him and talked to him about teeth. It is not customary for adults to do this but I am sure some doctors will accommodate, you just have to ask.
