Is it normal i'm too scared to buy something i really want?

There's something I've been saving up for and now I have the money to buy it. But now I'm scared. I keep thinking, "what else could I use this money for?" I'm thinking about holding on to it in case of an emergency or something. But at the same time I really want this thing. It's a luxury item and I don't need to have it, but I really want it. I rarely treat myself so I think I deserve it.

    I feel this way pretty much any time I splurge. It's almost a guilty feeling.

    In your case, if it's something you've been wanting and saving up for for a long time and you'll still be in good financial shape if you go ahead and buy it, you deserve it!

    I am the same way, I don't mind spending money on someone else but, I am always apprehensive when it comes to getting something I want. If you really want it, treat yourself.

    If you don't have an emergency fund, do that first. If I know anything about life, I know this, if you buy that thing, without reserve cash, something will fuck up directly after you spend the money.

    you dont " deserve " anything.
    If you have.
    1 clothes on your back.
    2 food in your belly.
    3 a roof over your head.
    Then you are blessed and better off then most.
    I can tell by your post its a vanity item.
    Try this:
    80/20
    From what you have.
    put 10% into a savings account.
    put 10% to the charity of your choice.
    Live off 80% of your pay.
    After living this way till you have a minimum of $15,000 in savings and $10,000 spendable.
    Then, if you still want the item.
    Go ahead, youve earned it.

    Just buy it. I'm saving up for a handgun. After the cost off ammo, ubers and range fair it's getting costly. But guess what shooting is fun as hell so I'm going to fo it anyways
