Why? From the sounds of things she’s not ready to go there yet.
It’s nobody’s business if OP choses to wait until it feels right.
Her reason is unjustified. There is no reason to be afraid because she may smell. If it was because she gets really emotional and doesn't want to have a lot of emotional baggage or guilt then she should probably wait.
I think this runs deeper than body odor and is more of an anxiety issue.
I don't think so. Not remotely.
She mentions her anxiety three times, even saying she perspires due to anxiety.
She needs therapy and a partner she feels safe with, not just deodorant.
