Is it normal i'm not upset that my friend is leaving

I live in a care facility, we are all disabled in some way & my flatmate is leaving in 1mo time. This is definite.
I used to get on really well with this man, going to concerts, truck shows, etc with him.
He's been a raging alcoholic for years. I don't drink alcohol often.
He accuses me of not listening to him (very noisy environment, can't always hear him)
He hogs my family & friends when they visit.
He tells me only to go to the shops certain times.
He criticises my diet.
He has blocked my doorway and turned my bell off so care workers can't come in, despite knowing any food I eat goes straight through me like a formula 1 car.
He contacts my mum, begging her to ask me to visit, but then makes me feel guilty when I have to go or says I haven't visited enough. He glares when I talk to people we are both friends with (who are quite new to the facility); he winds up another man with a known temper till he explodes & goes to hit him.
He's been brought back to the facility so intoxicated he can't hold his head up.
He tells people off for not thinking of those who work there, but when HE needs something & they are a couple of minutes late, he shouts at them until they can't cope with him. A lot have left.
He has upset me so much I've been sick, done self harm, and have made my stomach problems worse so I don't have to see him as often.
As we used to get on & I have fond memories of when we did, I got him a leaving gift which he pushed away, so I & another friend ate it.
I am so happy that this man is leaving that I am counting the days down & can't wait to block him on social media. iin??

Yeah, it's pretty normal that you're not upset. That guy seems like a toxic person.

  • He sounds annoying. I'd be glad he was leaving too
