I know it's all relative--but generally speaking, 25 is not old to most people! With a life expectancy these days reaching into the 80s, you are around 25% into your life! But, even if you were quite a bit older, let's say you WERE in your 80s, you can talk to whomever you want, older, younger, same age, etc.
How long have you had this fear of being punished for talking to people? That seems like a very irrational fear!
I myself just turned 40, and that felt strange--40 sounds so old and "responsible" but I basically feel the same as I did in my late 20s. (They say that when you are around 27 is when you fully develop your personality and values, and those remain stable for the rest of your life, unless you undergo some unusual circumstances). My mother just turned 70, and she said it did feel strange for her to think of herself as being 70, because that sounds so old! And my mother looks very young, dresses stylishly, is quite pretty, and loves being silly. Our culture DOES seem to favor youthfulness over age, but the fact is EVERYONE gets older, and there's no escaping the aging process! Just enjoy your life no matter what your age.
IIN I'm afraid of being arrested for being old?
