Is it normal i'm a go getter when helping others but confused about my own life?

When friends or even just acquaintances tell me about their problems or their dreams I'm full of good advice and happy to help.

When friends talk to me about issues they're going through even complex life problems their struggling with I can come up with a solution in minutes I have one friend in particular who said she took my advice and shared the advice with her boyfriend and they both have drastically improved their moods lately.

Other things too if someone wants to do something I'm all for making it happen. A friend of mine who lives in another city wants to start a band and get his new type of music out there. He's created a new style of metal music and I've heard him play he's damn good. So instantly I went online found out some information on areas he could rent for an event, how to get vendors involved and other bands, I did this in minutes.

So when I'm working with others I can help them easily and quickly. However I seem to have trouble motivating myself on my own goal and figuring out exactly what I want to do in life.

  • Me too, I'm full of suggestions for other peoples' life but won't work on my own.

  • Stop trying to please others and do stuff to get some satisfaction yourself.

Sounds like you should work on changing your 'inner voice' to treat yourself as kindly as you treat others. When we are kind to ourselves we're more willing to get out there and take risks.
