simply put, guys like women and two women are usually better than one! A lot of guys imagine themselves being in the middle of a lesbian sandwich, and that is where the whole threesome idea comes in. obviously if the ladies were real lesbians they wouldn't want to have a guy there, but that's beside the point. My theory is that most guys feel simultaneously threatened and excited by the idea and fantasy of two beautiful, attractive, and gorgeous women being totally fulfilled and satisfied in every way by each other, while also being totally immune and indifferent to the guy's masculine charms.
That is why the perfect lesbian scenarios often seem to involve a guy's current girlfriend (who he happens to be cheating on), and another girl (who he is having a secret relationship with). Sometimes they even seek revenge or retaliate against the guy and try making him feel as worthless as he made them feel. If you can understand the logic behind that then everything seems to make sense: the fantasy that a guy wanted to be with both of these girls but eventually both girls discovered the truth about the other and instead of being angry or upset at each other, they fell in love due to their shared hatred for the guy.
