  • I like history and reading everything. That does not mean I liked history class, or English. I didn't like the conformist answers many teachers seemed to seek for assignments. It was annoying having to parrot whatever my teachers (later, college professors) thought to be true. You're fortunate if you have not come across such a narrow-minded teacher yet. History and literature are greatly subjective arenas.

For school purposes, I liked science and math just for the sake of it being objective. Teachers cannot claim your answers to ever be wrong based on their perception. Exams for science and math are relatively easy to to me, not that I get an A every time, but I rarely ever score below a B. I've always made A's for any writing class. I just hate having to tune out my creative side to write however the teacher prefers.

I think it's awesome you like to write, and want to be an author. If you like coming up with stories, or any kind of writing, just do it. Don't know if you've ever done screenwriting? It's always possibly lucrative. Just look up Shonda Rhimes, the screenwriter for Grey's Anatomy. Or, look at the popularity of Steven King's novels. There's the obvious biggie being J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter). There's all kinds of writing though. Copywriting is an option. Songwriting is another. Tons of journalist options exist for writers.

If you write well, and want an underground job, off the books? There's quite a market for ghostwriting gigs, lol.

Speaking of history? Um, historical fiction, yeah! :-) I'm so into this Outlander series.

    • Interesting recommendations. I've actually made a collection of books to study from to see how the art of story telling has grown. HP is of course among them.
