I think it adds to the fact that you're female! I'm a heterosexual man who's never found the heels/make up/nails/Barbie type of woman attractive. I also like intelligent women (no coincidence there!) so someone who's never sold out to, or believed in any of the media's expectations is more woman to me than someone who's dressed in pink all their life.
