Is it normal i have random violent thoughts?

I have random violent thoughts that I obviously never act on. I'm not a violent person. I'm a pacifist, and I won't hit people even if they hit me. But, at the same time, I have horribly violent thoughts, sometimes random, sometimes triggered by something. They don't always have some kind of purpose. At the moment, I'm imagining how unpleasant it'd be if I cut off my toes with a pair of scissors. Would I do that? Hell no! But my mind is just chock full of unpleasant thoughts.
Is it normal to have such violent, random thoughts?

Have you spoken with a mental health professional? You sound very tormented. Is there something, or someone who instigating you perhaps?

    • Well I have depression and anxiety (medicated for the depression.) I have a lot of torment going on, but I'm fine. Think of that dog in the house on fire meme. That's me. I've been to a therapist and whatnot, and I stopped going after a year because now I'm in a significantly better place. Eeexcept for these thoughts, but a lot of people have those "oh what if I threw my phone in a lake" or "what if I jump off this high space" thoughts. Mine are just more detailed, I guess.

Well, I'm glad that you've gotten some help. Yeah, I think that a lot of people get invasive thoughts, and that it tends to happen with people who have OCD.
