Is it normal i have an uneasy stomach first thing in the morning

I always used to love breakfast in the morning and never had any issues. But there was one time a couple years ago when I couldn't sleep for 3 nights (never quite figured out why...) and during those sleep deprived days I experienced some dizziness and dry heaving. As I understand those symptoms are normal with sleep deprivation.

But ever since then I have never been able to eat much during the first couple hours of being awake (except for a cup of coffee) and my stomach will feel uneasy if I move too quickly and I'll start gagging.

Its not a serious discomfort, its just a little odd to me and doesn't really help when I have work at 7 and need to hurry out of bed.

Normal? Anyone have any explanations? Anyone think it will ever go away?

Yeah when I wake up my stomach is unsettled for 3 hours. Can't eat food, but I can drink coffee.

For about 3 years when I was younger, that would happen to me. I would get pale and everything. I grew out if it. It must have been a nerve issue.

  • Maybe it's the coffee, try drinking it later for a couple of days and see how you'll feel.

I can't eat right after waking either...many people can't. If you are feeling nauseous then you need to stop putting coffee on an empty stomach.

Any chance you are pregnant? Started any new medications? Any big changes in life?I get the same thing as well, and late in the evenings. Have for months ( and I'm not pregnant). I think it's stress?
