Is it normal i have a thing for these types of female characters?

I really like a type of character that sounds like an oxymoron: a badass damsel in distress. Probably the most famous example is Wonder Woman. She’s strong and powerful, but she gets kidnapped and knocked out a lot (although in her case she often frees herself). Another one from DC is Batgirl, more specifically in the 60s show, who often needed rescuing from Batman and Robin. Ahsoka Tano from Star Wars is a really good example, she does all sorts of badass things but gets knocked out and kidnapped probably more than any other Star Wars character!

I think one thing behind this appeal might have to do with dominance. It’s one thing to overpower or rescue a submissive girl, but to do so to strong dominant one makes me feel even more dominant by comparison. (I originally had this in the music and entertainment category, but I think I’ll change it to urges and desires because it’s so sexual lol).
