I find public toilets just stink too much, are noisy, you are not on your own and cost money too. If you don't count the fact that they are often dirty and you don't know what pathogens the other person has spread on the toilet seat.
I hate public toilets. If I have to go to the toilet, I prefer to keep it in a private setting or if it's just urine, then let it out in nature. Or toilets of some expensive shops. Those often do too.
I used to do that too, but then didn't see the point of using toilet paper just because certain people shit on hygiene.
I'm not sure toilet paper is made for cleaning another person's shit and urine off doorknobs just because it happens.

What I usually do if I'm using a public toilet is to layer the toilet seat with toilet paper before sitting on it.
Also, I hold the toilet tank and toilet door handles with toilet paper in my hand.
