It's good to celebrate yourself. I don't think it's self indulgent to want other people to celebrate your birthday nor do I think you ought to feel guilty. However, we are all powerless over the thoughts, feelings and actions of others and there's no way to make them act the way we would like to have them to act.

I do celebrate myself, but is it wrong to want other people to also? I always feel guilty and self indulgent.
