You're giving dogs a lot more power than they actually have: they can't "make" people love them more than they love people and they certainly don't know how to hypnotise people?
If your mum loved a dog more than her kids and was its slave, that was her choice and not the dog's fault and it feels ludicrous to me that I have to point that out to you. How old are you anyway?
