Is it normal i hate cigarettes?

Anybody feel the same way? My grandma smokes, my brother and sister smoke, my parents used to, and I'm trapped on Christmas in a smokey house. I go into my grandmas house for two minutes and I walk out stinking of cigarettes in my hair, on my clothes, on my skin. She complains of being short of breath and says she has no idea why, hmmm, nope no clue either.

Her addiction is killing her and eventually it will get to my brother and sister. Not only has it aged them but they're not able to exert much energy without being short of breath. As a baby and a child I grew up around cigarette smoke and suffered from asthma and breathing problems, this all pisses me off. I really hate cigarettes, all these hipster ass kids these days lighten up their cigarettes and talking about how
hard life is and sippin on their pilsners.

There's a thousand excuses as for why people started smoking and none of them are valid, everyone I've ever met just started smoking because they thought it made them look cool, and then their excuse after they get addicted is because it helps with "stress".

No it's not uncommon for people to hate cigarettes, as an ex-smoker I know that most people don't really care as long as you don't blow the smoke in their face. You should tell your relatives about vapes, they smell rly fresh and it helped me quit.

As a former smoker, I cant stand cigarettes anymore. It's definitely not an indoor sport anyway, and with several people smoking inside...eww.

    • Agreed, like everything in my grandmas house is ruined with smoke damage. The walls and floors literally have an orange yellow tint that streak when you try to wash them, 34 years of smoking indoors..

Oh my gosh. Thats pretty stinkin bad :/ I used to smoke in my car a lot with all the windows down and when I would clean the inside of the windshield, I was nasty and yellow and that was only from a few months maybe. I've seen houses that people have smoked in for a long time and it's almost irreversible damage. You can't wash it out. That shit soaks into the sheatrock and everything and the best way to deal with it is tear down the walls and put up new ones, I say. Just not worth it in so many ways.

A few more days and it will be a year since I quit. Yay me!!! High fives all around! Woot! Woot!!

Alot of people don't like cigarettes but those who smoke or start smoking recently have a very hard time quitting. It's not just a matter of putting down the pack and not smoking anymore. As to the reason why people smoke, they're often pressured into it or their lives become so stressful they need a different kind of release.

You know what's odd? Back then, cigarette companies had lied to customers to buy their cigs. Back then, it was "healthy" to smoke. They would say how it "strengthens your lungs".

Buy stock of the tobacco companies. But, give the dividends to charity. It is your social responsibility as a 1% overlord to donate dividends from any alcohol, tobacco, firearms, or gaming stock to charity. These stocks contribute to costly problems that society must pay for through taxes. And, these taxes are a drag on the economic growth that gives all of us more income. Including us, the 1%.

Sounds like they all have emphysema and you could easily end up with it too if you've lived with heavy smokers all your life: they're not just killing themselves unfortunately!

I know a few people with this condition who've never smoked but lived with smokers. I've got it from 40 years of smoking and I'd actually given it up years before I was diagnosed. Every time I'm around smokers I know I'll be unwell for days afterwards.

I'm with you, I loathe smoking and cigarette smoke but every now and then I come across a cigarette I like the scent of. Pretty sure it's for nostalgic reasons

Quite normal. I know a few people who can't stand cigarette smoke. I personally am ok with people smoking around me outdoors but can't stand cigarette smoke indoors. It's very hard for people to quit smoking since a lot of them do it to deal with stress, and nicotine is a drug. For this reason I'm glad I don't smoke.

I hate it too. My boyfriend smokes when we're not together. I don't let him smoke around me. Every time he does, I think of the years in the future I will have to spend alone after he dies
