Is it normal i get urges to cut myself for no particular reason?
I sometimes just want to cut myself and for no reason at all. Just the thought of blood and pain interests me.

Ok, I'mm'a be completely honest with some folks here.
You need to seriously shut the fuck up with the, "Stop it! Get help!" speak. If you know anything about the topic of self harm then you know that this type of shit is the exact validation they need to go through with it. You don't know how old they are, you don't know if this is a cry for attention or seeking to seem special for a second or two and your idea of blowing the topic out of the water and claiming they're in need of outside intervention can sometimes feed into the want to self-harm because the outcome is the attention you've just proven it gives.
Right, on to the OP. Self-harming is retarded but it's your call. If you think the idea of people looking at your arms and assuming a deep backstory then that assumption will wear off a good year or two afterwards when you realize it's insanely embarrassing. Do I get the curiosity of the sharp pain and the visuals? Sure but it's a piss-poor trade off that you'll be too embarrassed to talk about later on just for that short period of curiosity.
If you want to self harm then go for it, you already know that nobody here is going to stop you and you should know that nobody here, not even me, is going to care even a minute after we tab out of this window. If you want to be embarrassed for the rest of your life for a cheap thrill that doesn't pay off then be my guest.
