I have never understood guys like him; and believe me, there's plenty of them. You would think intelligence, being a primary survival trait, would be attractive. But in college, guys in our dorm called up an airline stewardess training school to get girls for parties. These chicks were dumb as bricks, but 2/3rds of the guys loved it anyway.
I would say, "Why not just party with a blow up doll? They never say 'no'". The reply was that their ego wouldn't feel as good. I still don't get it. *Sigh*, go figure.

I only liked the smart girls. Unfortunately, male attractiveness was usually the most important trait for them too.
