Is it normal i feel embarrassed for the people i see taking selfies?

I dunno, it just seems so sad. The person is there all alone, looking all serious and then suddenly they're smiling at their phone for about a minute, or 5. Then they go back to reality and look even sadder.

It's pretty narcissistic that people think that others take that much interest in their lives. It is kind of sad, if you think that a lot of these people are just putting on a face for the world to see and aren't actually happy in their own lives.

Black Mirror "Nosedive" episode on Netflix. That's the world they think they'd like.

There are various things you could feel for these people, but sadness suggests you're a kind person. Some things turn me into a crotchety old bastard, and my feelings are much less charitable.

Studies have found that social media have a negative impact on people's mental health. People rapidly start to feel a lot happier about themselves and the world in general if they just stop using it and get off the treadmill. But some people are addicted to it, and they've allowed it to become a central part of their lives.

You should see this one selfie I took of myself balancing a huge bag of cat food on my head, and holding a can of chili. I also took a selfie of myself with some random weirdo that I saw in a bathrobe at Walmart. Now I kinda miss Las Vegas, because Las Vegas has some great weirdos!

OP, you are projecting your self-shame onto others. The source of your embarrassment/cringe comes from within. The healthiest response to someone taking a selfie is to not give a shit.

When I was younger, I had heard about people who were sexually attracted to themselves. I wondered about the dynamics of that. I thought, "Yeah maybe a one in a million type thing" but in the age of cell phones, I think it is like one in five females who are that way.
