Is it normal i don’t usually watch sports but i do like the olympics?

I’ve never really liked watching normal sports but the Olympics have always been different. I feel a sort of National pride that’s just absent from most normal sports, and for whatever reason their sports just seem more impressive to me.

I may also have a bit of a crush on Katie Ledecky. Maybe.

Individual sports have always been more interesting to watch than team ones. (At least to me.)

I would have thought that Sarah Robles was more your cup of tea.

Same. Only sport I watch is cricket and car races .
But I'm watching olympics from the beginning. Even right now. Damn those women 100m qualify races. They are fast....

I am the same! I love the Olympics, and don't really watch sports any other time.

There was a time when I was like you: I normally have zero interest in any sort of sports, but I did occasionally watch some of the Olympics.

I lost interest in giving the circus even that minuscule, passive amount of support once I learned more about how the Olympic Organising Committee actually works, the huge disruption caused to ordinary people by the construction of the venues, and how host countries are almost invariably left with enormous white elephants that are of no practical use once the games end.

Boojum, there is obviously a net positive for cities to vie for the Olympics, hence the corruption and bribery with the international organising committee. What you call a disruption to ordinary people is actually an influx of jobs and opportunities to create wealth! I'm not sure what white elephants you are referring to, but the 96 Olympics really revitalised Atlanta.
