I pretty much wash every new thing I buy if its washable. Clothes, dishes, food, etc. And I wipe off pens and books and phones and everything that looks like its been sitting in a chinese warehouse for six months then sat in a shipping container on a barge that floated from Shanghi to Long Beach with a cat trapped in it and when rescued and interviewed on CNN all it can do is look scared and meow. Yes its completly normal. After you buy clothes of course lots of others have touched it and maybe even tried it on so its mandatory that you wash it first.
