Is it normal i can't stand people who ask for special treatment?

I often get extremely angry when I hear people asking for discounts or special treatment. For example, a mother wants a special parking spot because she has 6 children. A woman wants a discount because her last name happens to be the same as the name of a tourist attraction she is visiting. People asking for military or senior citizen discounts all the time. People expecting over-the-top preferential treatment because they paid the absolute minimum amount possible to become a member of some club or venue, or worse, because they "know somebody". And when told no, all these people get indignant and snotty. It makes me want to scream! IIN?

A lot of places offer senior and military discounts so I don't see anything wrong with asking for it if you're entitled to it.

I served in the military, as did a lot of my family members. Discounts are an entitlement that I believe we earn, because like it or not, the job that we do is of the utmost importance, and though everyone enjoys benefiting from things like, oh say "Freedom", and protection from enemies foreign and domestic, not everyone is prepared to actually step forward and position themselves to potentially fight for them. Imagine if no one did? So yeah, military members are special in my opinion.

A few years ago a friend of mines family came to Target asking for the employee discount on stuff saying that they knew me. They were denied a discount and freaked out. I have no idea why the idiots thought they were entitled to my perks. Lol

He actually thought that I was being selfish and that the store ripped them off. I stopped talking to him after that and he acted like I shut him out for no reason. Lol

Yeah, he doesn't sound like much of a friend. To be honest they all sound like selfish, entitled, ghetto-ass people who just want to get over.

I once worked at an American Legion bar and saw a lot of entitlement. The prices were already dirt fucking cheap but that wasn't good enough. Because one time somebody gave someone a free drink, these people twisted it into policy that every third drink was free. The manager even told me to just do it for certain people or they'd throw a fit. They complained to him about me when I was new and didn't know about their special rule. Whatever. Fine. From then on they talked to me like I was retarded and mentioned it was their third drink wink wink like I can't count.

A local doctor came in once and ordered 2 double shots of top shelf liquor on ice. Gave me a $10 bill that looked like he wiped his ass on it and put it through a woodchipper. $10? For 4 shots of top shelf? And you think there's change? Jesus Christ.

One time a regular customer left an empty drink and some quarters on the bar. I waited to see if he was coming back...because, you better believe you DO NOT dump or wash these people's glasses because THERE IS STILL A BIT OF LIQUOR IN THERE, SAVE IT!...anyway, I waited and asked around, it appeared he had left for good. I take his glass and put the quarters in my tip jar. Well, he came back. Oh shit. He 'kindly' explained how he'd never leave a tip and I should've known that and now he needed a new drink for free. OK, whatever. That upset over a few quarters and your drink only costs $1.75? He was not a bum either, he was a teacher and coach at the high school.

Policy was that I had to stay open after 9-10 PM even if there was only 1 customer in there (I could close around 9-10 at the earliest if there was NO customers). Many times there was just 1 or 2 stragglers who just sat there nursing drinks wasting my time. Shitty policy because it cost money and it was really unsafe for me. Manager didn't care though, as long as they didn't have to hear these whiners cry about not getting their .75¢ beers.

Oh yeah, then there was people who would purposely stay till closing time just so they could try to get a free ride home from me.

I did work at other bars where the owners/managers actually had spines and wouldn't allow this type of shit. Much better.

That sounds like a nightmare from Hell! Are those dudes all like Hank Hill's dad from Kill of the Hill or are they more like that Mr. Anderson from Beavis and Butthead?
