Whenever I'd walk my dog I'd be worried people were comparing my skin to the shit I pick up. So I lightened four shades over two and a half months, and I maintain with a lemon exfoliating soap. The initial peeling process was painful, but the results were worth it in my opinion.
Who do you think taught us to hate ourselves? Before you answer I know not everyone's racist. I was mainly talking about skin color hatred that's continued past the days of slavery. I also know a girl with pretty hands who was told by the hand modeling people she couldn't model because she was too dark to be ambiguous. And you should know that bigots won't buy nail polish if it's on darkie hands. Just look at the MAC ad where people (mostly white) in the comments were mocking a dark girl for lips people pay to get injected for.
Rihyae (whose race we don't even know based on that comment) is "probably a clan member" because they are criticising your insecurities that drove you to bleach your own skin?

I mean it is YOU who is bleaching your melanin away, it is YOU who is having thoughts about comparing your skin to shit, and that means YOU are the one who has a problem with your blackness. I get it, there's Eurocentric bias in beauty standards (Adopt-a-thot is right, I'm not excusing racist white peoples' bullshit), but how do you ever expect dark skin to become seen as beautiful if you're not trying to confidently embrace it?
