I can remember my friend telling me that aa meetings were useless. He said the guy running his last meeting showed up drunk and stumbling and someone had to give him a ride home.
Yeah, a drunk person shouldn't be moderating a meeting. There probably isn't much recovery at that particular meeting. That was jacked up, but it doesn't mean that all twelve step meetings are jacked up, just that particular meeting.
I used to accompany a friend to meetings for moral support almost ten years ago when I lived in Las Vegas, and there would always be at least a couple of people who walked with canes due to permanent injuries from drunk driving accidents.
Problem is the U.S normalizes alcoholism (im assuming thats where youre living) In most other countries kids are not drinking heavy like that and blacking out. America has a big drinking problem because most college students are in-fact alcoholics. Go live in Europe for a while and see if you can find anyone who drinks like you. It might help you stop drinking like that- it helped me
IIN I blackout every time I drink ?

Jesus. I’m not an alcoholic. I recently turned 21, who doesn’t party at that age ?
