Is it normal i am terrified of sleeping when i have a cold?

If you don't want the sob story, go to the end for a TL;DR.

Whenever I get a stuffy nose and I am going to bed, it is so scary for me. I know it sounds like I'm weak or whatever, and I am but let's just keep going. I have globus pharyngis, which basically means I feel like I have a lump in my throat when I'm anxious, which is—most of the time—when I'm in public. However, I get pretty anxious when I fall asleep at night all the time. When I was younger I used to have pretty bad panic attacks when trying to sleep. Blah blah blah, I take anxiety medications and whatnot. However, I never really got rid of my fear of falling asleep. I think it's because I fear that I will stop breathing and/or die in my sleep.
Okay, to the point of this question.
Having a cold blocks my nasal cavities, which makes it nearly impossible to breathe through them (I'm saying this to summarize, not saying you don't know what colds do to your nose). As a result, I can only breathe through my mouth. This causes a dry mouth and, currently, chapped lips (cry for me, thanks). I have to keep drinking water so I don't feel like I'll lose all saliva and die somehow (I'm not a scientist). I'm just wondering if anyone else has this fear? I know it's dumb and believe me, if I could I would stop having this fear.

TL;DR: I have anxiety and I fear that I'll stop breathing in my sleep. Having a cold blocks the nasal cavities so it makes my fear worse. Anyone else afraid of this?

Tldr. Take the apt and pray to God for peace. Light candles have a puppy and enjoy life. Anxiety will fade away. But talk to peeps. We all have it. Every single person on this planet has anxiety. You aren't alone

    it doesn't work like that

if you cant breathe through your nose you will breathe through your mouth instead

i know this cos when i have a blocked nose i wake up in a puddle of drool so sleeping with a blocked nose is nasty but not lethal
