Is it normal i am amazed when staff isnt complete dicks?

middle-aged women are usually the rudest to me.I work with teenagers and like most of them , although I don't understand the attachment to their phones but they don't understand me liking 70's 80's rock its all good.

Unfortunately, the younger generation always gets overlooked when it comes to work.

I meet a lot of nice young people

I ran one sailing vessel that took tourists for 2 hour cruises around the bay, on which I only hired young people, high school through college. I had a nucleus of 17 crew members, with a few leaving each year, but the majority staying with me for years. I gave each and every applicant a fair shot at the open positions, but they had to do their part and show respect for the job by being dressed in clean clothes and neatly groomed when they applied for a position. After all, this was a job requiring the crew to interact with a public from all over the country and the world. I don't believe any of us were "complete dicks", but it could be pretty hilarious, when a crew in training found themselves way outside their comfort zone.

I have problems getting along with others in work environments too. Outside work and living situations I get along good.
