Agreed. It is beyond unnecessary, and it's as if they only want to pick fights or get attention by pissing people off. By all means, people should believe or don't believe whatever they want as long as it doesn't involve actively hurting others, but no need to shove it down anyone else's throat or disrespect other faiths or lack thereof (and that goes for all sides).
I can't remember what the event was (I want to say it was the Stoneman Douglas school shooting a few years back), but I remember there being outrage over people offering thoughts and prayers "because prayers are useless and those people aren't actually doing anything to actively help those people". The way I see it is; 1) Sometimes praying is all a person can do (no one can bring anyone back to life), and 2) Who's to say people can't both pray AND physically do what they can to help? I suspect most of the people who whine about thoughts and prayers doing nothing also have no plans to do anything to actively help, either, and are just keyboard warriors looking for something to be pissed off about (and Facebook seems to be the place people like that lurk the most). 🤣
IIN I’m not Christian but I hate when people mock Christians
