    • Ikr. Look at the Donald trump dad ashes thread. Obviously a troll...

      Still, this is the response:

Someone ranted about someone making Trump daddy's ashes into bullets for the great American military hahahahaha. For fucks sake...

      • It's against the rules of the website to assume that it's a troll, so people responded accordingly, not assuming it's a troll.

          • That is an unrelated discussion. At least follow the few rules that this website has.

            • Why should you hold me accountable to the rules of this website, when you simply can't follow the rules of basic hygiene? We live in a society.

              • I doubt you follow the proper rules of dress, either, but I am not holding you accountable for that because I cannot see you to be able to be certain, just as you cannot see me to be certain about whatever falsehoods you are believing. However, what I can see is someone breaking the set in stone rule of "Do not assume someone else's submission is fake".

        • That’s a guideline, not a rule. “TRY to take it seriously...” (emphasis mine.) The hard and fast rules that MUST be followed are the Member Code Of Conduct, and there’s no mention of not assuming one is a troll in the Code Of Conduct.

Either way, several of the vile responses to that question also violated other community guidelines and/or the Member Code Of Conduct, so it’s unlikely that they had that in mind when they decided to assume it wasn’t a troll.

          • The Member Code of Conduct is the set of rules you can be banned for breaking; the Community Guidelines are rules that should be followed that you cannot be banned for. Not a single one of those comments breaks the Member Code of Conduct. Yes, a large number of comments were breaking the "Do not insult or degrade others" guideline, but that is unrelated to the topic at hand. That topic being people should not assume posts to be fake.

            • That’s not the topic at hand. At all. The topic is whether or not conservatives are just as whiny as liberals, and the topic of people assuming posts to be fake is completely irrelevant to the topic of whether or not conservatives are just as whiny as liberals, but that does not change the fact that your claim that there is a rule that people cannot respond to a post as if it’s a troll was demonstrably false. There is a guideline that people should try to take them serious, that’s a very different thing in multiple ways. Also, as per the Terms & Conditions, Is It Normal reserves the right to delete anything they want and ban anybody they want, for any reason or no reason at all. There is nothing “that you cannot be banned for” on this site.

EDIT: Just to refresh your memory, the reason you went off topic from the topic at hand was to claim that people were responding the way they were because following the guidelines. I was simply revealing the hole in that logic by pointing out that they were not following other guidelines, so that was quite related to the topic indeed.

              • The topic that I was talking about is not the topic of the post. It doesn't matter if it's relevant to the topic of the post; it only matters that it's relevant to the current discussion. The Community Guidelines are rules. They literally say, "Do These Things" and "Do Not Do These Things". I was suggesting that breaking the Community Guidelines is not nearly as likely to get you banned as breaking the Member Code of Conduct. The topic at hand was always about the rules, rather than the post. You attempted to change the topic at hand to a topic related to another post.
