Is it normal i’d like to mentor a younger girl?

So I’m a 20 year old guy and I’m not really an expert in anything, but I have sometimes thought of learning a skill like some sort of martial arts or spirituality. But what I would really like to do is learn a lot about it, and go on to teach a young person about it, preferably a female. Now, some of you are probably assuming some pretty bad things about me, but I never specified how young. They could be only a year or two younger, in that case it could have a romantic element, but if much younger I would think of it almost like brother-sister or father-daughter. Probably the best comparison I can give to explain would be something like Anakin and Ahsoka from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

I really don’t know why this thought appeals to me but I think it would, and why a girl I’m also not sure. I could imagine being protective over a girl but not so much a boy. Why? No idea.

I think it is normal to want to teach someone. My theory is that as well as just wanting to help them, it also makes you feel really smart and superior, lol. But a child knows next to nothing, they're so ignorant of the most fundamental things that it'd be really easy to teach them everything, and it'd make you feel very superior as a result. I think we've all wanted to be that wise old Jedi master that all the young Padawan learners respect and all crowd around to listen to, lol.

Plus because a child is such an empty vessel, uninfluenced by anyone else, you'd be able to mold them in your own image, teaching them all the things you wish you learned at their age, and turning them into a little version of you (kinda like with Jango and Boba Fett).

Not sure why the sex would matter though if they're a child. If they're an adult then I obviously get why you'd want a female but I don't get why it'd matter if they're a child.

  Like I said, I don’t know. For some reason I can imagine doing this too a girl and not a boy. Maybe because for most of my life I’ve lived with mostly girls so ironically I related to them more somehow.

        Ok, I see. Yeah I'd say that's normal enough. Lots of people would say it isn't though, that you must be a pedophile for saying something like that. But that'd be a pretty stupid baseless accusation. Everyone finds little girls cute, the only reason it sounds dodgy to admit that is because everyone is on guard for pedophiles nowadays (not that we shouldn't be but we have to be carful about turning into a witch hunt too).

Nope. Sounds like you have a power craving and you're 20 years old and you're already identifying young girls as prime targets. It's nothing to be ashamed of right now because you have a choice laid in front of you... Do you want to be a decent man who, with counselling and support, was able to overcome life destroying urges and go on to meet a nice WOMAN who is able to consent and be receptive to his "interests" or do you want to be a selfish, sly, cowardly abuser who will never be a able to look in the mirror without being reminded how disgusting, deplorable and potentially unlovable he is. It sounds like admiration and respect is what makes you tick and one of those roads holds none of it. Good luck.

  I guess this definitely gets a “no” vote from you lol. But I do know at least some spiritual concepts, but I guess in this scenario I would wait until I’ve done enough practice to be able to teach. I guess I have a lot of weird desires.

Yes this is perfectly normal, genders do not matter we are all human and just because some one is a woman doesnt give her the right to think she knows everything better about someone the same gender as her. A lot of single fathers have raised amazing daughters who are now living a great life and career. I suggest you adopt a little girl and raise her as your own daughter, but its all your choice, good luck :) !!
