Is it normal he opened the bathroom door while i was in there?

This happened years ago but I never told anyone because I guess it's not that big of a deal, but I wanted to at least ask here.

I was 17 and he was also 17. I was at my friend's house. I was using the bathroom. I had finished using the toilet, so then i went to the sink and was washing my hands there. But then my "friend" opened the door a bit and poked his head in and was like... looking in at me and smiling like he thought it was funny or something. Something about it was really creepy.

I must've forgotten to lock the door, but I just didn't think of locking it because it wasn't a public space.. but why would he try to open the door anyway?

He's usually nice but I'm really creeped out by this, and I don't want to be friends anymore.

Is it normal that he did this? Im creeped out by this memory even years later.

    that's curious that he opened the door isn't it? I wonder what he wanted? why do people open bathroom doors? hmmm
    oh I got it ! he wanted to use the bathroom ! could that be it?
    as for the look - he was probably just embarrassed. A 17 year old boy isn't real mature ;)

      I asked him "Hey, where is the bathroom?" He walked me directly to it. He knew 100% that I was in the bathroom. So no, there is no way that it was an accident. And he didn't seem embarrassed whatsoever when he opened the door.

    Someone opened the door up on me, once while I was using the bathroom. Ugh and it was an old man. This happend when I was 10, and I'm 15 now. It still creeps me out a bit, but I should have known better, than to lock the door, but I guess I forgot. Anyway until this day, I always make sure to lock the door, when I use the public bathroom.
