Hopefully, all three of you will have learned valuable lessons from your own particular acts of stupidity here.
The girlfriend should learn that sending nudes to boyfriends is a stupid thing to do if she doesn't like the idea that everyone he knows will see them sooner or later. She should also learn that her boyfriend is an immature asshat whom she should dump at the earliest opportunity.
Your friend should learn that bragging about what his girlfriends do for him is uncool, and showing off things sent to him in confidence is a shithead thing to do that can land him in trouble.
As for you, the first thing you should take from this incident is that fucking texting is not the most appropriate medium for dealing with sensitive issues. You should have had the sense to know you should keep your mouth shut and spend some time pondering how to deal with the situation. If you decided the girl should know that her boyfriend was showing off the nude pictures she sent him (and it's safe to assume that if he showed you, then he's probably shown the pictures to others), that should have been something you talked to her about face-to-face.
Which leads me to something else you should think about: why exactly did you feel the need to tell the girl what her boyfriend had done? Do you enjoy midnight dramas? Are you secretly jealous of your male friend and want him and his girlfriend to break up? Are you trying to get into her pants? Do you actually hate the guy and you wanted to dump him in the shit? Or are you just one of those idiots who always acts on impulse and never pauses to think through the possible consequences of his actions?
You say you felt guilt because you'd seen the picture, but how the hell was telling her about you seeing the picture supposed to make you feel less guilty? If you happened to look down a woman's blouse one day and saw more tit than you felt you were entitled to see and felt guilty about that, would you immediately tell her that too?
The best you can gain from this incident is the understanding that there are many times in life when the best course of action is to keep your mouth shut, and you should think very carefully before inserting yourself in the relationships of others.
