Is it normal for the same people to keep saying hi repeatedly everyday?

To clarify, whenever I go to the locker room for PE, theres these two guys who I never seen before, they always saying Hi, to me, I do respond Hi, but they do it repeatedly every day?

It reminded this happened to my cousin before, but he later found out they where doing it because he was a certain race.

So I assumed that what was happening to me, so I decided that day, I calmy said to them. "You know what would be funny? If I shot you in the head" while smiling at them.

obviously they said wtf, I didn't feel anything about it, so the next day I was wondering where did they go? I never saw them again?

I know you can't just abandon a class? so my best guess they where random students? I dont understand

Is It Normal?

    If they say hi to you everyday why not just spark up a conversation with them and get to know them? They seem nice. It never hurts to make a friend or be friendly with ppl.

      The way I perceived them, was they where doing it a way to annoy for some reason, I did say Hey back, but they repeat that phrase like 8 times or more saying Hi.

      I did find that odd, and it seemed like they where doing it maliciously. And it made more sense to me when I found out they where not part of that class, they where definitely after me for some reason?
